The four IBPS uploads, explained
IBPS application forms ask for four separate images. Each has its own pixel size and KB window, and the form will refuse a file that is outside the range. The preset buttons above load the correct numbers so you only have to crop.
1. Photograph — 200 × 230 px, 20–50 KB
A recent colour passport-size photo (about 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm) against a light, preferably white background. Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not accepted; religious headwear is allowed if it does not cover the face. If you wear spectacles, make sure there is no reflection.
Also note: IBPS now asks candidates to capture a live photo via webcam or mobile phone (using a QR code) in addition to uploading this photo. Take that live photo in good light, against a light wall, without sunglasses or cap.
2. Signature — 140 × 60 px, 10–20 KB
Sign on white paper with a black ink pen. A signature in capital letters is not accepted. The signature is printed on your call letter, and if your signature at the exam does not match the uploaded one you can be disqualified — so use your usual signature.
3. Left thumb impression — 240 × 240 px, 20–50 KB
Press your left thumb on an ink pad (black or blue) and then on white paper. Roll slightly so the full ridge pattern shows. If the left thumb is not available, IBPS allows the right thumb, and lays down an order of fingers to use instead; in that case mention which finger was used in the uploaded document. Tick Black & white in the tool for a cleaner impression. For more help see our thumb impression guide.
4. Handwritten declaration — 800 × 400 px, 50–100 KB
Write this text in English, in your own handwriting, with black ink, not in capital letters:
The declaration preset uses Whole image fit so no words get cropped. Candidates who cannot write because of a disability may, as per the rules, upload a typed declaration with their left thumb impression below it. Everyone else must write it by hand — a typed declaration is rejected.
Why uploads get rejected
- Wrong shape: a portrait photo forced into a landscape signature box gets stretched. Always crop to the preset shape.
- Below the minimum KB: an over-compressed photo can be under 20 KB. Use a sharper original; the tool warns you if the minimum cannot be met.
- Capital letters in signature or declaration.
- Photo/signature swapped — IBPS warns that a photo in the signature slot (or vice versa) can stop you from appearing in the exam.
- Blurred or dark scans: use daylight and hold the phone parallel to the paper.

Some IBPS posts also ask for certificates as an A4 PDF up to 500 KB. Use JPG to PDF with size target or the PDF compressor for those.
